Fundamental Computer Science and Mathematics Research Network

The Fundamental Computer Science and Mathematics Research Network, through its Quantum Computing Working Group, brings together the French scientific community in quantum computing to develop the foundational principles, algorithms, and future programming languages.

A foundational network committed to quantum computing

The Fundamental Computer Science and its Mathematics research network is a CNRS research network that, since 2006, has been strongly committed to quantum computing through its Quantum Computing Working Group (GT QC).

 

Objectives: structure, connect, shine

The GT QC brings together the community of computer scientists whose work or interests relate to quantum computing in a broad sense (quantum algorithms, complexity, cryptography, programming languages, computational models, etc.).

Its main mission is to create synergies among the roughly twenty laboratories involved, strengthening the number of French sites recognized internationally in this field.

Concrete actions serving the community

Among the GT QC initiatives:

  • Quantum Computing Days (JIQ): annual scientific meetings to exchange on advances in quantum computing

  • “PhD Student Visit” Program: promoting exchanges between teams and sharing expertise and methods

  • Support for early-career scientists (PhD, postdoc) to attend conferences and develop their scientific network
